Modal distribution of national passenger and freight transport in 2020.
In 2020, 11.998 million passenger-kilometres used the Spanish rail network as a whole, 5,320 million used long-distance services, 1,420 million used medium-distance services and 5,258 million used commuter services .
8.970 million net t-km were transported by rail in 2020, of which 7,465 million were for domestic transport and 1,504 million for international transport.
In 2020, there were more than 10 million passengers. Of these, 7.5 million used coastal services, 1.2 million were overseas trips and 1.1 million were cruise services.
485,2 million tonnes were transported in 2020 in all Spanish ports, of which 45 million corresponded to coastal navigation, 429.3 million to foreign navigation, 135,708 tonnes to transhipped goods and over 10 million tonnes to fishing, provisioning and inland traffic.
